Choi, the mother-in-law of former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol, who was sentenced to prison in the first trial for illegally opening a nursing hospital and illegally receiving medical care benefits, was released on bail.

The 5th Criminal Division of the Seoul High Court has made a decision to cite Choi's bail request today (9th).

Choi, who was imprisoned in a detention center in Uijeongbu Prison and transferred to the Seoul Detention Center, filed a bail request on the 13th of last month, saying that there is no fear of escaping or destroying evidence.

Choi was handed over to trial on charges of illegally opening and operating a nursing hospital, even though he was not a medical professional, and defrauding 2.29 billion won in medical care benefits.

Choi denied the charges, but the first trial court found Choi guilty and sentenced him to three years in prison.
