On a mission to the International Space Station since April, the French astronaut regularly posts photos on social networks.

Global warming seen from the ISS

Nicolas Laporte, president of the Auvergne association Infinisciences and astrophysicist at the University of Cambridge, is at the initiative of this operation.

His project ?

"Sharing our knowledge from the photos of Thomas Pesquet but also highlighting certain climatic phenomena".

With a retreat of 400 km, several photos allow us to realize global warming.

The terrible fires that have occurred in several areas of the world, hurricanes, floods… Not to mention the coral reef in New Caledonia, threatened by pollution.

“There is an educational aspect.

It is important to be aware of climatic concerns ”, entrusted the president of the department Marc Gaudet on a daily basis.
