A driver in his 70s who was vaccinated with AstraZeneca (AZ) crossed the center line and drove in the opposite direction, causing an accident.



The Gwangju Eastern Police Station said yesterday (6th) that the car driven by a 75-year-old A on a five-lane road in Daein-dong, Dong-gu, Gwangju at around 12:15 pm on the 6th violated the central line, and then drove in the opposite direction for about 10 km.



As a result, Mr. A even collided with a 119 fire engine and a city bus running in the first and second lanes opposite each other.



In the police investigation, Mr. A stated, "I received the AZ vaccine on the 1st, and I was tired and not in good shape. Before the accident, I was momentarily confused."



Fortunately, Mr. A suffered only minor injuries and was delivered in a state of not life-threatening. Police said the bus driver, passengers and firefighters were not seriously injured.



The police are investigating the exact cause of the accident and are considering whether to file a case.
