In the midst of this, the movement of about 70 corona-only hospitals across the country is not unusual. Some hospitals have demanded cancellation of the designation, saying it is difficult to operate. A dedicated hospital in Seoul with more than 240 beds has notified the government that it will not accept new patients from next week.

Reporter Park Soo-jin reported exclusively.

Misodeul Hospital, Guro-gu, Seoul, a hospital dedicated to infectious diseases.

Paramedics use a 'negative pressure stretcher' to transport the patient into the hospital.

Today (7th), 5 corona patients were hospitalized in one day alone.

This hospital was originally a hospital specializing in geriatrics, but since February, it has been designated and operated as a hospital exclusively for COVID-19 infectious diseases.

However, the government recently notified that it will not accept corona patients from the 13th.

From the 30th, he said that he would stop operating the dedicated hospital altogether.

The government has recently changed the standard for loss compensation, and the reason is that the more corona patients it receives, the more it is in the red.

In the past, 160,000 won was applied to a single bed, but the unit price has been reduced to 110,000 won as the standard has been changed based on operating performance over the past three years.

Therefore, the claim of the hospital is that the compensation for loss will be reduced by more than 300 million won in one month.

It is a structure that relies on government support for revenue because it does not receive regular patients.

Labor costs for dispatched medical staff have also been changed to be borne by hospitals.

As the number of hospital beds increased by 70 at the request of the local government, the number of dispatched personnel also increased to 86.

[Yoon Young-bok / Director of Misodeul Hospital: Since the cost of dispatched personnel costs is much higher than the profit that will increase the number of patients, the more patients we see, the more the hospital suffers.] The Naeun Hospital in

Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province I asked the government to cancel.

The government said Friday that it would find a solution through meetings with these hospitals.
