With cases of menstrual abnormalities such as irregular bleeding after vaccination against COVID-19 in Korea, the government announced that it would also investigate the causal relationship between vaccination and vaccination.

In a briefing today (1st), Cho Eun-hee, head of the safety immunization management team of the Corona 19 Vaccination Response Promotion Team, said, "There is no official association with menstrual abnormalities outside of the country, but the authorities have collected and reported data, so there is no correlation or causal relationship. If there is, I will guide you as soon as possible."

There are reports of menstrual abnormalities such as irregular bleeding and irregular menstruation appearing online after receiving the vaccine.

Yesterday, an article was also posted on the bulletin board of the Blue House public petition asking, 'Please allow me to report female irregular bleeding (haemorrhage) as a side effect of the Corona 19 vaccine'.

The petitioner said, "After receiving the COVID-19 vaccine, there are frequent cases of women experiencing irregular bleeding even outside their menstrual cycle, but it is a frustrating reality because they do not even receive reports as a side effect of vaccination. "It's the most terrifying thing, but when I go to the hospital, they just prescribe a contraceptive pill or tell me to take Tylenol," he said.

However, the promotion team explained that, contrary to the petitioner's claim, it is possible to report any adverse reactions, including menstrual abnormalities.

Director Cho said, "There is no standard that does not make it a target for adverse reactions to vaccination.said.

He added, "It is not (true) that it cannot be reported because there are many unknown adverse reactions," he added.

Abnormal cases have also been reported overseas, such as that a woman who had previously received the COVID-19 vaccine started menstruating again after menopause.

Regarding overseas cases, Vice President Cho said, "In the case of the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), there were no reports of menstrual-related symptoms in the clinical course of Moderna, Pfizer, or Janssen vaccines. It was not presented,” he said.

He added, "Even though there are reports of menstruation from the EMA (European Medicines Agency), there can be any number of changes in a woman's body, and various signs of menstruation may be due to other reasons such as stress, so they will be monitored."

Meanwhile, the health authorities have also requested the medical community to review the causality of the reported case of leukemia after being vaccinated against COVID-19, and the results will be announced tomorrow.
