Many people are working hard to keep the quarantine rules even when it's hard, but even last night (19th), businesses that violated quarantine rules were caught in various places in Seoul. There were even places where they could hide from the crackdown. The government has begun reviewing whether to increase the fine for negligence, which is only 100,000 won.

Reporter Han Seong-hee reports.

you open the door that has been skillfully covered with wallpaper, a hallway appears.

[Enforcement Police: I came from Gangnam Police. Please come out in order.]

Dozens of people line up when you go inside.

[Enforcement Police: Everything is here, here. Everyone, they are all current offenders for violating the Infectious Disease Prevention Act.]

Yesterday around midnight, the police and local government cracked down on an underground entertainment bar in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, which was reported as a general restaurant.

[Kim Jin-guk / Gangnam Police Station Life Safety Division Manager: After the forced opening, I entered the interior, but there were only the owner and the employees, but no customers or entertainment receptionists.]

After thoroughly scouring the interior, a secret room prepared to avoid crackdowns was found, and 20 customers and a receptionist 17 people were arrested.

The business is located on Gangnam-daero, where there are a lot of vehicles coming and going during the daytime.

It is the only entrance that can go down to the first basement floor.

Police believe that they have been operating illegally without putting up signs like this from the beginning.

At the same time in Songpa-gu, 18 people, including customers and receptionists, were arrested at a karaoke bar that was operated while avoiding the eyes of the authorities.

Despite continuous crackdowns, clever ways of illegal business and customers visiting these places continue to come.

Currently, the fine for negligence is up to 100,000 won, and there are even businesses that offer to pay the fine if it is imposed.

Accordingly, the government is reviewing measures to increase the fines imposed on customers who violate quarantine rules.
