The Gunsan Police Station in Jeollabuk-do announced today (17th) that they had arrested and handed over a 50-year-old man accused of special theft.

Person A, who lives in Gyeonggi-do, is accused of robbing lecture rooms, professors' labs, and club rooms, visiting 20 universities across the country, including Jeonbuk, Jeonnam, Chungcheong, and Jeju since 2016.

The stolen metals and cash from Mr. A were found to be worth about 40 million won.

Some of the precious metals have been converted into cash and have already been used.

In the police investigation, it was reported that Mr. A made a statement to the effect that "the crime was to raise living expenses and entertainment expenses."

A police official said, "A was arrested because he saw that the crime was bad, such as habitually committing crimes around the country."
