An additional 1.1 million doses of AstraZeneca's COVID-19 vaccine will be supplied.

The Corona 19 Vaccination Response Promotion Team announced that 1.1 million doses of AstraZeneca vaccine will be shipped tomorrow (17th) from SK Bioscience's plant in Andong, Gyeongsangbuk-do.

This vaccine is part of the 20 million doses that the government has contracted directly with AstraZeneca.

Including this volume, a total of 11,156,000 doses of vaccines, including AstraZeneca, Pfizer, and Janssen, will be supplied to Korea by the 17th of this month.

Earlier yesterday afternoon, 400,000 doses of Janssen vaccine provided by the US government arrived at Incheon International Airport.

The government plans to introduce an additional 18.6 million doses of Pfizer, AstraZeneca, and Moderna vaccines by the end of this month.

This includes 835,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine, which will be delivered this month through 'Covax Facility', an international project for joint purchase of vaccines.

However, the US pharmaceutical company Moderna's position is that it can supply less than half of the planned volume for this month due to laboratory problems related to vaccine production, so there is a possibility that the vaccine supply plan will change.
