During the Liberation Day holiday starting today (14th), the police and the Seoul Metropolitan Government announced their policy to respond strictly to illegal assemblies, but several groups are not bending their will to force it.

The National Revolutionary Party, led by Rev. Jeon Kwang-hoon, has announced that it will hold a walking event that will march through the city center, including Seoul City Hall, from today.

The Confederation of Trade Unions is also scheduled to hold the National Workers' Congress Metropolitan Area Convention in the form of a one-man demonstration in downtown Seoul at 4 pm today.

Police have warned that the gathering place will be blocked through temporary checkpoints, fences and police buses.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government also notified each group of bans, stating that if the rally was held, the organizers as well as the participants would be accused of violating the Infectious Disease Prevention Act.
