NASA ruled out the astronaut's involvement in the hole in the Soyuz

A NASA spokesman said at a briefing that astronauts carry out missions with professionalism and are respected.

“I believe, or rather we believe, that the behavior of astronauts is professional, and we do not find these accusations to be credible,” NASA said.

Earlier, TASS, citing a high-ranking source in the Russian rocket and space industry, reported that American astronauts refused to undergo a polygraph test on the situation with the appearance of a hole in the Soyuz MS-09 compartment.

In December 2018, Russian cosmonauts Oleg Kononenko and Sergei Prokopyev performed a spacewalk to inspect the hole in the Soyuz MS-09 manned spacecraft.

In March 2019, Roskosmos discovered traces of metal dust that remained from drilling a hole in the utility compartment of the Soyuz MS-09 spacecraft.

In September of the same year, the head of Roscosmos, Dmitry Rogozin, said that the state corporation found out how a hole appeared in the utility compartment of the Soyuz MS-09 spacecraft, but would keep this information secret.
