U.S. Forces Korea, who was driving under the influence, collided with an oncoming vehicle and was arrested by the police.



The Gangnam Police Station in Seoul announced that they are investigating a 41-year-old man A, a USFK sergeant, on charges of violating the Road Traffic Act.



Mr. A is charged with driving in a drunken state on a road in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul at around 6:45 pm yesterday (12th) and crashing into a vehicle in front of him.



A 56-year-old man of Chinese nationality, the driver of the victim vehicle, was injured in the accident and the car was damaged.



As a result of a breathalyzer test, it was found that the blood alcohol level of Mr. A at the time of the accident was the level at which his driver's license was suspended.



The police handed over Mr. A to the US Military Police in accordance with the Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) with the US.
