In the first trial, Deputy Prosecutor Jeong Jin-woong of Ulsan District Prosecutor's Office, who was handed over to trial for assaulting Prosecutor Han Dong-hoon during the search and seizure process, was sentenced to probation.



The 22nd Criminal Settlement of the Seoul Central District Court sentenced Deputy Prosecutor Jeong, charged with self-inflicted assault, to four months in prison, one year of probation, and one year of suspension of qualifications.



Deputy Chief Prosecutor Jeong is charged with assaulting a prosecutor's body by pressing and assaulting a prosecutor's body during a search and seizure of a prosecutor's cell phone SIM chip at the Legal Research and Training Center in July of last year.



Prosecutor Han was investigated for alleged involvement in the attempted coercion case of former Channel A reporter Lee Dong-jae at the time.



Deputy Prosecutor Jeong claimed innocence, saying that the prosecution had attempted to destroy evidence and was in the process of stopping it, but the court did not accept this.
