A 30-year-old mother was arrested by the police on charges of leaving her 3-year-old daughter unattended to death.
The Incheon Police Agency's Women's Youth Investigation Unit announced today (9th) that it is investigating and urgently arresting a woman in her 30s on charges of child abuse and homicide under the Act on Special Cases concerning the Punishment of Child Abuse Crimes.
Mr. A is accused of causing her daughter B (3) to die by neglecting to take care of her daughter B (3) in a villa in Namdong-gu, Incheon.
He called 911 on the 7th of this month at around 3:40 pm, saying, "The child is not breathing."
When the fire department and the police responded to the report, Ms. B had already died and her body was decomposing.
As a result of the investigation, it was confirmed that Mr. A, a single mother, lived in the villa, which is a public rental housing, with Mrs. B.
During the police investigation, Mr. A stated, "I left the child alone and went out and came in, and he was not breathing."
Based on Mr. A's statement, the police believe that he has been away from home for at least two days and is investigating the specific circumstances.
In addition, to determine the cause and time of death of Miss B, an autopsy was requested from the National Institute of Forensic Sciences.
A police official said, "There was a circumstance that Mr. A had neglected his young daughter to death, so he was arrested."said.
