The Ministry of Education announced that it will gradually increase the number of students attending the second semester in the coming semester, despite the 4th pandemic.

First of all, a month from 1 week before school starts to 3 weeks after school starts is set as an intensive quarantine week. During this period, elementary schools in the 3rd level distance zone, the lower grades 1 and 2 go to school every day, and up to 3 grades out of the remaining 4 grades. made it possible for me to go to school.

In middle school, students can attend up to two grades, and in high school, full attendance is possible.

After the intensive quarantine week is over, elementary and middle school students of all grades can go to school every day.

On the other hand, the number of people attending school is limited in the 4th stage of social distancing.

First, during the intensive quarantine week, only 1st and 2nd graders in elementary school and only 1 grade in middle school can go to school.

In high school, high school seniors who have been vaccinated can go to school every day, and only one grade from the 1st and 2nd grades of high school who have not been vaccinated can attend school.

When the intensive quarantine week is over, students can return to school at a density that does not exceed 2/3 of the school year, including those in which classes are already in progress.

However, since high school 3, who received the vaccine, are excluded from the application of density, it is possible to return to school at the 4th level.

In addition, special schools and small schools can fully attend even at Level 4.

Meanwhile, the education authorities decided to expand the number of days for home study to 57 days, which is 30% of the school day.

In addition, in order to prepare for a sudden outbreak of infection after school starts, ventilation is required throughout the lunch period and partitions in the cafeteria must be installed.

Yoo Eun-hye, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, emphasized, "It is a very difficult time, but it is time for adults to give back to our children the things that can only be fully enjoyed by going to school." The Ministry of Education is closely monitoring the situation of infection and will respond promptly in case of a crisis under a close cooperation system with related organizations."
