The Siheung Police Station in Gyeonggi Province announced today (21st) that a foreign substance came out of the food and deceived him to get tens of millions of won from restaurant owners and sent him to the prosecution on charges of habitual blackmail.

From November 2019 to March of this year, Mr. A purchased various foods such as bread, walnut cookies, and salted fish from food vendors in service area restaurants and marts in Seoul, Gyeonggi, and Gyeongbuk, etc. He is accused of extorting money by threatening business owners, saying, 'I need a treatment because my teeth are broken while eating'.

He was found to have extorted 27 million won from 40 companies in this way.

In order to deceive the business owners, it was found that Mr. A faked a medical certificate or a text message that recorded the cost of dental treatment, and threatened to punish or sue the company by impersonating an executive of a large corporation.

It is reported that the business owners are having difficulties in business due to the recent Corona 19, so they were afraid that if Mr. A files a complaint, the sales will be severely damaged.

In the process of receiving the damage report and starting the investigation, the police identified the remaining victims who had not previously reported 112, and after tracking them for 7 months, they arrested Mr.

During the police investigation, Mr. A stated, "I committed the crime to raise living expenses because I was unemployed.

A police official said, "Business owners who claim to have suffered damage and demand money should carefully examine the relevant evidence and report to 112 if a crime is suspected."
