A passenger car consignment vehicle hit the crosswalk and the vehicle on the other side one after another, killing two people and injuring 10 others.

At around 8:56 am today (20th), a passenger car consigned crashed into a crosswalk at Hanjae Intersection in Gwangmu-dong, Yeosu-si, Jeollanam-do, and then collided with 10 cars on the other side.

A consignment vehicle hit 6 pedestrians crossing the crosswalk and was taken to the hospital, but two people, A (80) and B (72), died.

One of the seriously injured showed cardiac arrest and was transferred to a university hospital in Gwangju.

Mr. A and others are elderly people who went to work in public, and it is estimated that they suffered a disgrace while crossing the street with their companions.

The injured are being treated at Jeil Hospital and Jeollanam-do Hospital in Yeosu.

The consignment vehicle carrying 6 cars crossed the crosswalk while making a right turn on the downhill road, collided with 10 vehicles on the opposite side in succession, and barely stopped.

The crosswalk where the accident occurred was frequently used by residents and merchants using the Seo Market, resulting in significant casualties.

A merchant who witnessed the accident said, "It sounded like an explosion, and when I went out, it was a mess."

Police and fire departments are investigating the exact cause of the accident, believing that the accident may have occurred because the brakes of the consignment vehicle had ruptured.
