A car and a truck collided, killing four people and seriously injuring one person.
According to the Jeonju Deokjin Police Station and the Jeonbuk Fire Department, a 14-ton truck and a Veloster car collided 100 meters before entering the Andeokwon Underpass in Sansan-dong, Deokjin-gu, Jeonju, around 4:05 am today (20th)
In this accident, four teenagers, including driver A (19), died, and group B (18) suffered serious head injuries and was taken to the hospital.
As a result of the investigation, it was determined that the car traveling in the straight direction collided with the right rear side of the truck making an illegal left turn.
The accident location was confirmed as a three-lane road where left turns were impossible.
The police will make an emergency arrest on the spot of a truck driver, Mr. C, in his 60s, and investigate charges such as violating the center line.
It was confirmed that the passenger car in which the teenagers rode was in the name of one of the parents, and the driver was holding a license.
A police official said, "After checking the surrounding closed circuit (CC) TV, it was confirmed that the truck made an illegal U-turn." "We plan to apply for an arrest warrant for the suspect soon and investigate the exact circumstances of the accident."
