A man in his 30s who tried to beat and rape a woman in her 50s who was walking on a rare night street where no CCTV was installed was arrested and sent to the police.

According to SBS coverage, the Gyeonggi Hwaseong Western Police Station arrested a 39-year-old man named Jung Mo on charges of rape and handed over to the prosecution yesterday (19th).

On the 16th of last month, around 11:20 pm on the 16th of last month, Jung grabbed the hair of a woman A, who was walking along the side of a river in Hwaseong, and knocked it down.

Then, he assaulted him by waving his fists in the face several times, and then attempted to sexually assault him, but when Mr. A resisted violently, he fled.

Because of this, Mr. A suffered injuries such as a broken nose bone and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

The location of the crime was on the side of a river where there was no CCTV installed, and the road was dark, and the impression of the man the victim remembered was not clear.

However, after about two weeks of persistent CCTV analysis and interrogation, the police identified the suspect.

The main thing was that one of the suspects was caught on the CCTV of an elevator in a building, paying attention as if he had injured his arm.

At the time of the crime, he suspected that he was injured while fighting with Mr. A, who was resisting.

The police confirmed that the suspect was the culprit by sending the DNA of the man taken from the crime scene and the DNA of the suspect to the National Forensic Service.

Jung, who was arrested on the 2nd of this month, denied the charges during the police investigation, but admitted it when he faced evidence.

The Suwon District Court issued an arrest warrant for the man on the 13th of this month due to concerns about escape.
