Kim Hong-bin, the first person with a disability to climb to 14 places in the Himalayas, went missing while descending.



Captain Hongbin Kim climbed Broad Peak (8,47m), the third highest peak of the Karakoram Mountains in northeastern Pakistani Kashmir, at around 4:58 pm local time yesterday (19th) (8:58 pm Korean time).



However, after climbing to the summit, Captain Kim was in distress while descending.



Captain Kim, who was in distress while passing through crevasses at an altitude of 7,900 meters above sea level at around 0 am local time today, sent a rescue request by satellite phone at around 10 am local time.



After that, the Russian rescue team waiting at Camp 4 arrived at the scene of the distress and found Captain Kim and confirmed that he was conscious by waving his hand. I lost.



The Gwangju Disabled Sports Association and the Gwangju Municipal Mountain Federation said, "After receiving notification of Captain Kim's fall, we requested a rescue helicopter from the Pakistani embassy through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs."



Captain Kim lost all ten fingers to frostbite while solo climbing the North American peak McKinley (6,194m) in 1991, but overcame obstacles and climbed the highest peaks on seven continents for the first time in the world with disabilities.
