The city of Busan has ordered a 24-hour ban on entertainment facilities and singing practice areas that have recently had a series of infections.

The city of Busan announced today (16th) that it will maintain the second stage of social distancing until the 25th, but will take effect from the 19th on the 1st and 2nd groups of high-risk facilities and some businesses in the group ban.

The target facilities are 5 types of entertainment facilities such as entertainment pubs, danran pubs, clubs (nights), emotional pubs, and hunting stalls, as well as Colatek and Ballroom, Hold'em Pub and Hold'em Game Center, and a singing practice area (including coin singing practice rooms).

This facility was previously open until 10pm, but will be closed 24 hours from the 19th.

Failure to comply with this or any special inspection will result in immediate suspension of operation.

As before, only take-out and delivery are allowed for restaurants, cafes, convenience stores, and food stalls from 10 pm to 5 am the next day.

Private gatherings are limited to 8 people from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m., and 4 people from 6 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next day.

Incentives for vaccinated persons are also temporarily suspended, such as the exclusion of the number of religious facilities and private gatherings and the exception of wearing an outdoor mask.

In the last week (9-15 days) in Busan, the number of confirmed cases was 389, an increase of 121 from the previous week (2-8 days) of 268.

In particular, the number of confirmed cases in their 20s and 30s increased sharply in entertainment facilities and singing practice areas.

The city of Busan upgraded the social distancing stage to stage 2 on the 8th and banned the business of entertainment facilities after 10 pm on the 10th, but this time, the quarantine rules were strengthened again as the spread of the virus did not stop.

The city said that the decision was made after consultation with the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the main headquarters in the hope that the number of tourists will increase in the coming season of the full-fledged vacation.

As the city of Busan is experiencing difficulties in epidemiological investigations due to the increase in confirmed cases, it will dispatch 104 city employees to each district and county for two weeks from today to support epidemiological investigations.

The operation of temporary screening test centers at Busan Station and Busan City Hall Lighthouse Plaza will also be extended from 5 pm to 9 pm to activate diagnostic tests.

The plaza of the old Haeundae Station in Haeundae also operates a temporary screening test center from today to the 31st of next month.

Periodic preemptive inspections once every two weeks for workers in entertainment establishments will also continue.
