A man in his 40s who killed his brother with an intellectual disability and made a false disappearance report was handed over to the prosecution for murder.

Today (9th) around 8 am, a 44-year-old man, Lee Mo, was arrested and sent to the police station while incarcerated.

The Seoul Central Police Station has denied the allegations throughout the investigation and applied the murder charge to Lee.

On the afternoon of the 27th of last month, Lee is accused of taking his 38-year-old brother with a grade 2 intellectual disability to a river in Guri-si, Gyeonggi-do, to death.

The younger brother was found dead at around 2:30 pm the next day at the northern end of the Gangdong Bridge in Seoul.

The older brother reported missing on the morning of the 28th, before his younger brother was found, saying, "My younger brother left the house to watch a movie and hasn't come back."

However, through CCTV analysis, the police confirmed that his brother's statement was a lie, and urgently arrested him on charges of confinement under the Welfare Act for the Disabled.

Subsequently, he confirmed the fact that the older brother was taking his younger brother to the river while changing vehicles, and was arrested by changing the charge of application to abandonment under the Welfare Act for Persons with Disabilities.

The older brother denied that he did not kill the younger brother, but the police secured several pieces of evidence through digital forensics and an autopsy and ultimately decided the charges as murder.

Police believe that the older brother decided to kill his younger brother over the legacy of about 4 billion won left by his parents who died four years ago.

My parents died suddenly four years ago at one-day intervals, and several reports came to SBS saying that the parents' death was also suspicious.

However, an official from the Central Police Station answered skeptically about the possibility of a re-investigation, saying, "It was a few years ago, so it is difficult to secure evidence, so it seems difficult to start an internal investigation.
