Saturday evening, a man was killed after a brawl at the Bercy metro station.

The suspect was arrested and an investigation was opened for "intentional homicide".

The identity of the victim is not known. 

A man was killed Saturday evening at the Bercy station of the Paris metro, after a fight with another man, for a still unknown reason, we learned Sunday from concordant sources. 

At around 10:20 p.m. a fight broke out between these two men on the platforms of line six, said a police source.

"One stabbed the other," she explained.

The latter "defended himself", "threw" the suspect onto the tracks and the brawl continued. 

The man carrying the weapon, who was on the tracks and the victim on the platform, then gave him "a second stab in the abdomen", added this source.

An open investigation

The suspect, born in 1992 and of Sudanese nationality according to a source close to the investigation, was arrested by the RATP Network Protection and Security Group (GPSR).

The identity of the victim was not yet known.

An investigation was opened for "intentional homicide", and the investigations entrusted to the 2nd district of the Paris judicial police (2nd DPJ), according to the Paris prosecutor's office.
