In Pohang, Gyeongsangbuk-do, a pine tree mass died, but administrative authorities are having a hard time finding the culprit.

According to the city of Pohang today (4th), the city is investigating through a special judicial police officer, judging that someone intentionally damaged the pine tree in a mountain in Jangseong-dong, Buk-gu.

The Pohang Northern Police Station also received a request from the city and launched an investigation.

In the meantime, the city and others have summoned some people to investigate, but no sharp suspect has been revealed so far.

Moreover, there is no closed circuit (CC) TV in the vicinity and there are no witnesses.

This makes it difficult for the city and the police to find the culprit.

Earlier, from around May, complaints have been received from the city that pine trees are dying in the forest near Jangseong Elementary School in Jangseong-dong.

As a result of checking the site to see if Shiga died from pine wilt disease or other pests, traces of a hole deliberately drilled by someone in the dead pine tree were found.

About three holes were found in each tree.

As a result of the National Forensic Research Institute forensics, an agricultural herbicide component was detected in the hole.

Based on these forensic results, the city believes that someone deliberately damaged it by drilling a hole with a tool and injecting herbicide.

The damage was initially reported to be several dozen trees, but the city recently re-examined it and found 200 trees.

A city official said, "We are working with the police to find the person who damaged the tree, but no results have been found yet."
