A 30-year-old woman was killed on Friday morning in Bordeaux with knives and her ex-spouse, already prosecuted for telephone harassment against her, arrested shortly after and placed in police custody, we learned from the parquet.

Alerted around 9.40 am by a witness who had heard the screams of a woman, the police discovered the body of the victim, Sandra P., in the living room of her house, hit in particular in the neck.

Alerted around 9.40 am by a witness who had heard the screams of a woman, the police discovered the body of the victim, Sandra P., in the living room of her house, hit in particular in the neck. 

Suspicions quickly fell on the former companion of the victim "from whom she was being separated since January 2021", said the prosecution. 

Investigation opened for "spousal homicide"

Since June 29, he had been subject to a judicial review prohibiting him from coming into contact with the victim after a complaint for telephone harassment.

Despite the intervention of the emergency services to revive her, the young woman, mother of their 4-year-old daughter who was not present at the time of the tragedy, died at her home, located in a quiet area of ​​small houses.

A large police force has been put in place to find the alleged aggressor, Mickaël F., born in 1984, on the run. 

He was arrested by the Raid's elite police at around 12 p.m. in his apartment in Mérignac, a few hundred meters from his ex-wife's home, where he had taken refuge, threatening to commit suicide.

He was still Friday evening in custody in the premises of the zonal direction of the judicial police of Bordeaux, seized of the investigation opened for "homicide by spouse".

His criminal record mentions six convictions handed down between 2004 and 2009 for offenses against the legislation on narcotics and traffic offenses, but "he has never been convicted of acts of violence," said the prosecution.

A police source had previously told AFP that the thirty-something was "known for acts of domestic violence".

Prohibition to come into contact with the victim

According to the details of the prosecutor of the Republic of Bordeaux Frédérique Porterie, the thirty-something had been presented to the prosecution on June 29 after police custody for acts of telephone harassment targeting his ex-companion.

He was then placed under judicial control with a ban from coming into contact with the victim and compulsory care pending his trial before the Bordeaux Criminal Court scheduled for November 16.

At the time, their dispute was over custody rights for their daughter, another police source told AFP.

According to the prosecution, this custody had been "exclusively entrusted to the mother by decision of the family court judge", last May.
