As expected, Microsoft unveiled the new version of its operating system: Windows 11. A version that introduces several major new features, including compatibility with Android applications and a major overhaul of the interface, which is much more modern.

But to take advantage of these new features, you will obviously need a machine powerful enough to support Windows 11.

That's good, Microsoft has just formalized the minimum configuration required to take advantage of its new OS.

As might be expected, the specifications required are higher than those required to support Windows 10. It should be noted that Microsoft will not offer a 32-bit version of Windows 11.

Here are the minimum requirements to support Windows 11:

  • 1 GHz 64-bit dual-core processor

  • 4 GB RAM

  • 64 GB of storage space

  • 9 inch screen

  • Image definition 1.366 x 768 pixels

  • UEFI, Secure Boot and TPM compatibility

  • Support for DirectX 12

Twice the power required for Windows 10

It can be noted that the memory requirements have doubled compared to Windows 10 since it will take at least 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal memory to take advantage of the new OS, against 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of space. storage for the current OS.

If you are not sure whether your computer or tablet is compatible with Windows 11, be aware that there is software available to test your device for eligibility.

The PC Integrity Control software will analyze the components of your machine and inform you of its compatibility with the new Microsoft OS.
