As the spread of COVID-19 in Korea intensified again, the number of new confirmed cases soared to 800 today (2nd).

The Central Quarantine Countermeasures Headquarters announced that as of 00:00 today, there were 826 new confirmed cases, bringing the total to 158,549.

Yesterday (762 people), 64 more people recorded the low 800 people.

The 800 confirmed cases is the first in nearly 6 months, or 176 days to be exact, since January 7 of this year (869 people), when the 'third wave' peaked (December 25 last year, 1,240 people) and came down.

If you look at the route of infection of the new confirmed cases today, 765 local cases and 61 people imported from abroad.

61 imported cases were the second highest since the first confirmed case of COVID-19 in Korea on January 20 last year, and the highest in 11 months and 342 days since July 25 (86) of the same year.

In the meantime, new confirmed cases have maintained a wide 'stagnant phase', rising and falling between 300 and 600 depending on the increase or decrease in the number of tests.

From the 26th of last month to today, the number of new confirmed cases in the past week is 668 → 614 → 501 → 595 → 794 → 762 → 826.

During this period, 500 people, 600 people, and 700 people are each twice, and 800 people are one time.
