After almost 40 years of absence, Intellivision is about to make its comeback on the front of the stage with a new game console.

Announced for the very first time in October 2018 for a release in fall 2020, the Amico has undergone many postponements, in particular due to the coronavirus crisis.

This time seems to be the right one, since its designers were able to show us the console up and down.

The Amico is a console made by the nostalgic, for the nostalgic. Intended to pay homage to the cult rival of the Atari 2600, the Intellivision, this new console will keep the same type of gameplay with two “remote” controllers. The catalog will include a large part of the titles published on Atari, Intellivision and Imagic, as well as some more modern titles.

If the console will offer retro titles, its components will be far from it. The Amico will thus benefit from a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, an HDMI port, a USB-C connector as well as a MicroSD port to expand the memory. As for its exterior appearance, the Amico will be fitted with 40 LEDs, giving the console a rather original futuristic look. Like its illustrious model, the Amico will have two controllers, also updated. Now wireless, they will operate on a battery whose autonomy is announced between four and six hours. A touch screen will now adorn each of the two controllers, as well as microphones, speakers, a force feedback system and a gyroscope.

If the console wants to be affordable and accessible to all, its price may cool more than one: 249 dollars. We can also find two different colors, namely Glacier White and Graphite Black, from October 10, 2021. Of the entire catalog announced, only 6 games will be installed by default and it will cost between $ 2.99 and $ 9.99 to add a new game. Suffice it to say right away, the bill may be salty if you want to take advantage of the entire catalog of the console.

Nearly fifty games have already been announced on the Amico.

There are also some of the greatest classics of the 1970s, such as

Pong

, Centipede or Breakout, as well as a few other small productions that have gone unnoticed.
