As the fire suppression at the Coupang Deokpyeong Logistics Center (Deokpyeong 1-ri, Majang-myeon) in Icheon, Gyeonggi-do has been slow, gray smoke has not ceased for the fourth day, and cases of damage from local residents are being received one after another.

Five residents of four households who became victims of the disaster spent the night at the village hall and senior citizen's center from the 17th to the 18th, and about 20 residents complained of headaches and some received hospital treatment.

In a nearby plastic house, a urethane fire, believed to have been used as an insulator, flew in and a hole with a diameter of 15 cm was created in the roof.

Kim Woo-young (57), head of Deokpyeong 1-ri, said, "After it rained, I touched the dust and the light was like glass fiber." He said, "I requested an analysis through the myeon office."

Even in the rice fields that finished planting last month, soot fell everywhere and collection work was carried out, and residents said that all water in the rice fields had to be drained and reapplied in order to minimize the absorption of pollutants mixed with the water into the rice.

In particular, residents are concerned about the inflow of fire-fighting water from the fire fighting process into nearby small rivers. The city of Icheon is taking steps to prevent pollution by installing temporary dams.

Some potatoes harvested from fields less than 100 meters away from the fire were green and the leaves turned yellow, the owner of the field said, because the flames had affected them for several days.

At an apiary 150m away from the Coupang Logistics Center, 49 beehives suffered dust damage, so all the animals had to be moved to another area.
