After a nervous battle with the Supreme Prosecutor's Office over the proposal to reorganize the prosecution's system, the Ministry of Justice withdrew the conditions for approval of the Minister's direct investigation.

In addition, the general criminal department was able to directly investigate economic crimes.

The Ministry of Justice announced today (18th) that it would make an advance notice of legislation by the 22nd of the 'Regulations on the Office of the Prosecutor's Office', which contains such content.

The most controversial part of the Minister's direct investigation was excluded.

Earlier, the draft prepared by the Ministry of Justice required that a temporary organization be formed under the approval of the Minister of Justice at the request of the Prosecutor General when conducting direct investigations in small branch offices.

Criticism has been pouring in from inside and outside the legal circles for undermining the political neutrality and independence of the prosecution.

In addition, the general criminal department is now able to directly investigate economic crimes that are directly related to people's livelihoods.
