Former national soccer player Park Ji-seong (40), chairman of the JS Foundation, sued the police against netizens who left malicious comments online over not being able to pay tribute to the funeral of the late Yoo Sang-cheol, former Incheon United coach.

According to the police today (17th), Chairman Park filed a complaint with the Seocho Police Station in Seoul the day before on charges of violating the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection (Damage).

In a notice sent to reporters, Etoile Classic, the agency of Chairman Park, said, "When Chairman Park, who lives in London, was unable to pay condolences to Yoo's funeral recently, malicious speculations were raised about Chairman Park and his family, and even the Abusive language was also poured out on the YouTube channel of his wife, Kim Min-ji, a former announcer."

He added, "It is at a level that cannot be tolerated any longer, so we have decided to leave it to the judgment of the strict law." He added, "There will be absolutely no mercy for eradicating malicious comments that go beyond criticism."

Meanwhile, on behalf of Chairman Park, his father paid condolences on his behalf, and Chairman Park also contacted the bereaved family to express their condolences, Etoile Classic reported.

The agency said, "At the time, we did not reveal any particular position in accordance with Chairman Park's opinion that it was not important to announce Joe's expression in the tragic loss of a senior and fellow soccer player he respected, but we took a position so that there would be no misunderstandings because of the concern that continued speculation would weigh on the deceased “, he explained.

Former coach Yoo, who participated in the 2002 Korea-Japan World Cup with Chairman Park, passed away on the 7th at the age of 50 after battling pancreatic cancer.
