Today (17th), the fire at the Coupang Deokpyeong Logistics Center in Majang-myeon, Icheon-si, Gyeonggi-do is not easily extinguished.

The fire department reissued a 'second stage response' alert that mobilizes manpower and equipment at 5 to 6 fire stations adjacent to the fire station in charge at around 12:14 pm today.

Earlier, the authorities received a fire report at around 5:35 a.m. and issued a second stage of response in about 20 minutes, mobilizing about 60 equipment and 150 personnel to extinguish the fire.

The fire gradually subsided around 8:20 a.m., about 2 hours and 40 minutes after the outbreak, and the fire department sequentially lifted the warning order issued earlier while cleaning up the remaining fires.

However, around 11:50 a.m., fires began to rise again from within.

Firefighters who were working to extinguish the fire inside the building also received an emergency evacuation order and evacuated to the outdoors.

In the process, Fire Department A belonging to the 119 Rescue Team of the Gwangju Fire Station was exhausted and transported to the hospital.

The fire department is carrying out firefighting work by reintroducing 160 people, including a special response team and personnel from the Icheon Fire Station.

The fire was found to have started on the second basement floor of the logistics center building, which is on the 4th floor and 2nd floor below the ground.

According to the fire department, the police, and the city of Icheon, there were 240 employees working here at the time of the fire, all of which were evacuated and there were no casualties.

Police and fire departments assume that the fire was caused by an electrical factor and will investigate the cause of the fire as soon as it is extinguished.

Coupang Deokpyeong Logistics Center is a center that handles general products excluding fresh food.

A Coupang official said, "As we cannot operate the center on fire right away, there will be some disruption in the delivery of customer products, but we will minimize customer inconvenience caused by delivery delays by sharing the delivery with other centers."
