Today (10th) at 8 o'clock, let's take a look at the news of the collapse of the Gwangju building that killed 9 people and injured 8 people.

Today, the second day of the accident, a joint investigation was held while the fire department completed the on-site search.

This incident was also an accident that was caused by not following the safety rules properly, that is, because of a person.

First, reporter Jung Jun-ho will reorganize the rescue situation by time.

Yesterday at 4:22 pm, the yellow city bus number 54 entered the bus stop, and just 4 seconds later, a huge pile of concrete poured down on the bus from the right.

In an instant, hazy smoke engulfs the road and the startled field workers evacuate in a hurry.

Vehicles that barely escape the pile of buildings back up quickly.

Shortly before the collapse, a corporate commuter bus with 9 people passed by the site.

[Oh Jae-cheol/Neighboring residents: I have to demolish one layer at a time from above, but I dig an oyster.

In the middle of the building, the building seems to have fallen.]

Firefighters arrived 5 minutes after receiving the report, but rescue work was not easy on the bus, where only the underside of the body was exposed.

The search proceeded from the front of the bus, which was slightly less damaged as the excavator cleared the wreckage.

Around 4:50, the first survivor came out through the bus window.

Eight people were rescued in the next 30 minutes.

But there were no more survivors.

The number of deaths only increased one by one, and after the 9th discovery of the body of a 17-year-old high school student at 8 pm, the rescue operation that lasted for 3 hours and 40 minutes was practically ended.

Most of the dead passengers were in the back of the bus.

It seems that the tree on the road next to the bus stop collapsed into the front of the bus and acted as a buffer to prevent the gas fuel tanks on the roof from exploding.
