A man was shot dead on Friday evening in a parking lot in Saint-Gratien in Val-d'Oise.

The hooded killer is still wanted by the police.

The victim's companion, who was also at the scene, was not injured.

A 33-year-old man was coldly shot dead Friday evening in an underground parking lot in Saint-Gratien (Val-d'Oise) by a hooded killer who fled, police sources and the Pontoise prosecutor's office reported on Saturday.

The judicial police are in charge of the investigation.

A "large caliber long gun"

At around 10:30 p.m., a woman and a man drove into the underground car park of a private residence in this town of 20,000 inhabitants.

They parked, the passenger got out of the vehicle.

Then "a man arrived, hooded and armed, who shot several times on the victim and the vehicle", told AFP a police source.

The passenger then runs away. But "he was caught by the shooter, who shot him several times", continued this source, specifying that the killer was equipped with a "large caliber long gun". The woman at the wheel of the car, who introduced herself as her companion, was not injured and alerted the emergency services. The victim had been convicted of acts of theft in an organized gang, the Pontoise prosecutor's office told AFP.
