The French authorities have just put an end to the illegal activities of the Le Monde Parallèle site.

A true illegal marketplace, the site offered "for sale various illicit products and services (drugs, false documents, weapons, carding, etc.)".

The closure of the platform was made possible thanks to the arrest of the two administrators of the site, reports the Ministry of the Economy and Finance.

For several months, around thirty customs investigators from the National Directorate of Intelligence and Customs Investigations (DNRED) have been carrying out the investigation to identify the individuals at the head of this online hub.

On May 17, they carried out home visits in Paris and the Metz region and arrested the two individuals.

"In addition to various computer equipment, these operations made it possible to dismantle this platform and seize false documents, bank cards and prepaid cards, several thousand euros in cryptocurrencies, and evidence of their illegal activities on the site", indicates the ministry's press release.

DNRED is not lacking in humor

Le Monde Parallèle now displays the logos of the Central Office for the Suppression of Irregular Immigration and the Employment of Untitled Foreigners (OCRIEST) and the DNRED.

We will also note the small mention "LMP: Le Monde Pawned" which can be translated as "The World has been had" or "the site has been compromised".

A little nod from investigators to site visitors.

This is not the first time that the French authorities have managed to close this type of platform.

A first operation in 2018 made it possible to dismantle the Black Hand platform, as well as the French Deep Web site.

Arrests had also been made in connection with these operations.
