New with Pokémon Legends: Arceus
Sparkling Diamond
and
Sparkling
Pearl
are remakes of versions of
Pokémon Diamond and Pearl
, two games released for Nintendo DS in 2007 in Europe.
They are part of the remakes movement that The Pokémon Company started in 2004 with
Fire Red
and
Leaf Green
Pokémon
, versions brought back to the taste of the time of Pokémon Red and Blue.
Then followed
Pokémon HeartGold
and
SoulSilver
in 2009, remakes of Pokémon Gold and Silver, and finally in 2014
Pokémon Ruby Omega
and
Sapphire Alpha
, readjustments of the Sapphire and Ruby versions.
As usual, these new remakes will keep the same elements as their original versions.
The graphics have however been improved and some features modernized.
Pokémon Legends: Arceus
plays the innovation card, plunging the player into a distant past without trainers or League.
The combat system and the evolution of the player in the world have also been completely redesigned compared to the usual games.
