This is an infinitesimal part: 0.01% of people fully vaccinated against Covid-19 were then infected with the virus.
The study, commissioned by the US government, looks at the 101 million people who were fully vaccinated in the United States between January and April.
A total of 10,262 contaminations were reported two weeks or more after the injection of the second dose of Moderna and
Pfizer
, or after the injection of the single dose with respect to the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
Among them, 2,725 of those infected were asymptomatic, 706 had to be hospitalized and 132 died for reasons related to Covid-19.
According to the report from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there may be more post-vaccine contamination, with asymptomatic people being very difficult to diagnose.
But with regard to infections leading to a severe form of the disease, this study is categorical: vaccines are effective.
