Of the 629 new confirmed cases, 620 are domestic outbreaks, excluding 9 foreign patients.
By region, 414 people were confirmed in the metropolitan area, including 216 in Seoul, and 206 were confirmed in the non-metropolitan area, including 27 in Daegu.
In Daegu, 11 additional people were confirmed in connection with the group infection by dyeing companies, and 8 more people were confirmed to have been infected with a mutant virus from the UK.
Among these, 87,000 people received the vaccination for the first time a day yesterday.
From today, vaccinations for the elderly aged 65 to 74 have begun at over 13,000 medical institutions nationwide.
The reservation rate for ages 70-74 was 68.9%, and the reservation rate for 65-69 years old was 63.6%, which has not exceeded 70% yet.
