The Verge

.

This new functionality will be contained in a beta version of the app for iOS and Android.

Initially, users will only have access to the transcription of certain exclusive and original shows from Spotify.

Only English content is affected by subtitling, but the Swedish platform intends to extend its device to all content from the streaming service.

This written transcription of the podcast will give the opportunity to return to a specific place in the program, by clicking on a word for example.

To find the thread of a podcast that you interrupted, it will be easier to find the written passage rather than scrolling through the sound recording.

Interface redesign

Other new features highlighted by Spotify, the redesign of the podcast interface.

It will facilitate the use of the service for the visually impaired or allow better visibility in low light conditions or reflections on the screen.

New, more distinctive colors are proposed for the buttons.

Owners of an iOS device can also increase the size of the text.
