Videos posted on social media show vehicles engulfed in flames, some of them overturned on the roof.

Firefighters intervened to extinguish these fires.

This episode of tension takes place in the Val d'Argent, a vast working-class district regularly the scene of urban violence, in this city located north-west of Paris.

Sabri passed away a year ago

The 18-year-old died in a motorcycle accident near a police car in a nearby neighborhood. 

The investigation was closed, the investigations confirming "the absence of intervention by a third party in the accident", according to the Pontoise prosecutor's office.

His relatives remain convinced that the Bac (anti-crime brigade) bears responsibility for the accident and have requested the opening of a judicial investigation.

A white march in his memory is also scheduled for this Saturday.
