YouTube has just announced the creation of the YouTube Shorts Fund, a $ 100 million fund.

“Each month, we will contact thousands of designers whose Shorts have received the most engagement and views to reward them for their contributions,” the social network explained on its blog on Tuesday.

New features to come

This money is not intended only for participants of the YouTube Partner Program but for all creators of “original content”.

YouTube thus hopes to introduce new artists but above all to highlight its format of short videos.

The Google subsidiary also wants to take the opportunity to test advertising on the Shorts.

New features should also arrive on Shorts: the automatic addition of subtitles, the recording of videos up to 60 seconds, the addition of videos from the gallery of his phone and the arrival of new filters and effects. .

Feedback from the creators is awaited by YouTube, which will use it to make improvements.
