The Epic Games lawsuit against Apple has opened in Oakland court closed to the press due to the pandemic.

Only the sound of the hearings was made public, but from the first minutes, the audio line was hacked by young troublemakers fans of Fornite.

In his opening remarks, the publisher of this famous online game compared Apple to a walled-in garden with a monopoly strategy to trap nearly a billion players inside its App Store: all locked in the IOS operating system with no possible way out with restrictive rules and exorbitant costs.

That's the whole point of this complaint from Epic Games kicked out of IOS after offering its players the possibility of paying inside their game by bypassing Apple's 30% commission.

In this trial, which is a bit like the App Store,

Apple CEO Tim Cook

must testify in person, but not before a popular jury.

Federal judge Yvonne Gonzales Rogers, a specialist in antitrust laws, has three weeks to decide whether the App Store constitutes an abuse of dominant position as claimed by Epic Games.

But with the brand's many possible appeals to it, this battle could go on for years.
