At the end of last week, a couple was violently arrested in Marseille near the Saint-Charles station.
The victims filed a complaint and the IGPN was seized after the video was broadcast in the media.
The lawyer of the two young people evokes the "gratuitous violence" which they underwent at the microphone of Europe 1.
The Marseille prosecutor's office seized the IGPN after the publication on the website of the newspaper
La Provence
of a video in which we see a muscular arrest.
The scene would have taken place in the district of Saint-Charles station, in the middle of the night, at the end of last week.
That evening, the police intervene at a party where several young people have ventured onto a scaffolding.
A young man seems to come down on his own and things would have gone wrong by then.
Hit several times in the face
At the time of the search, one of the plainclothes policemen struck a first blow to the face with the back of his hand before giving a head butt as an intimidation.
The young man makes a reflex gesture to free himself or protect himself.
The officer then hits him several times still in the face and slams him onto the hood of a car.
He is then handcuffed and then pulled by the hair.
The violence seems to continue inside the unmarked vehicle.

Meanwhile, the young man's companion tries to intervene.
She was thrown to the ground twice and then sprayed with tear gas by another officer.
"The police were terribly lacking in discernment"
"There is a cursor to put. There, it exceeded the limits it is totally disproportionate", launches Me Thomas Hugues, the couple's lawyer.
"One can only testify to the gratuitous violence which is not justified, which is disproportionate within the meaning of the code of ethics of the police officer. The police officers were terribly lacking in discernment", he continues.

Deeply affected by this affair, the couple therefore filed a complaint. The defender of rights was seized as well as the General Inspectorate of the National Police. The prosecution and the police headquarters have opened an investigation. During the investigation, the two police officers involved are assigned to another post not involving a mission on the public highway.
