A father in his twenties, who was handed over to trial for abusing and murdering his 8-year-old daughter, was revealed to have played a mobile game even though his daughter, just before his death, fell down in the bathroom for two hours.
At the first trial held today (4th) at the hearing of the Incheon District Court Criminal Division 15 (Judge Lee Gyu-hoon), the lawyer of 27-year-old A, who was charged with murder, abuse of children under the Child Welfare Act, and abandonment and neglect of children, said, He said, "We admit the abuse of children and the abandonment and neglect of children."
Mr. A admitted to the abuse in court, but denied the intention of the murder.
Mr. A insisted, "We admit the facts of the murder charge, but there was no intention of the murder, and we deny the causal relationship between the accused's actions and the victim's death."
Mr. A's wife also said, "Some admit, some deny."
On March 2, this year, the couple was arrested for abusing their daughter, a third grader, in a villa in Unnam-dong, Jung-gu, Incheon.
