Nintendo has updated

Super Mario Party

on Switch so people can play against each other online.

Nintendo announced this in a video on Tuesday.

Super Mario Party

came out for Switch in October 2018.

Since the game was released, it could only be played online to a very limited extent.

Only ten of the eighty games from

Super Mario Party

were playable online.

In addition, the board game mode was missing from the game.

Up to four people can play against each other

In the best-known mode, players complete a course on a virtual board game and play mini games in the meantime.

Whoever gets to the end of the board first wins.

After the update, seventy of the eighty mini-games will be playable online.

There are two ways to play multiplayer.

This allows people to play against friends or anyone else, as long as they have the unique password for the game.

It is not possible to play against random players.

To play online, a paid subscription for Nintendo Switch online is required.

The update itself is free.
