Mo Lee, former director of the Multifunctional Administrative City Construction Administration, went home after 14 hours of police investigation, after midnight.

[Do you admit the charges? Did you use inside information?] The

police investigation ended around 7pm, but it was reported that the former commissioner asked for revision of the contents of the record and read it carefully and took about 5 hours more.

Former Commissioner Lee, who is at the level of the Vice Minister, is classified as the top person among those who are being investigated for suspicion of real estate speculation.

The allegation against the former chief is a violation of the Anti-Corruption Act.

Police focused on investigating whether former Commissioner Lee had speculated on real estate using inside information obtained during his tenure.

In April 2017, when he was in office, former Commissioner Lee bought 2 lots of land in Yeongi-myeon, Sejong City under his wife's name.

After retirement, he also purchased land in Yeonseo-myeon, Sejong City.

However, the following year, the area around the purchased land was selected as a candidate for the national industrial complex, raising suspicion of speculation.

Former Commissioner Lee denied the allegations during the investigation.

It is known that the selection of candidates for the industrial complex was unrelated to the Happiness Administration's business, and that it was not known that the land purchased would be developed.

Accordingly, the police believe that there is a need for further investigation, and after reviewing the investigation yesterday (23rd), they plan to call the former Commissioner again.
