Today (21st) in Cheongju, North Chungcheong Province, a helicopter that had been dispatched after a forest fire crashed and one person died.
There seems to have been an accident while filling the lake with water.

At about 3 pm today, a forest fire extinguishing helicopter crashed down the lake at Daecheong Lake, Inmun-myeon, Cheongju-si.
The point of the accident.
Here, a helicopter that used to fill water, that is, fresh water, fell under the water during the operation.

There were two people on board, the captain in the 60s and the first officer in the 50s. The captain evacuated himself outside the helicopter and was rescued by a police administration line, but the first officer could not get out of the helicopter. Was found unconscious about 10 meters below the water depth, was taken to a hospital, but died.
The accident helicopter was confirmed to have stopped by Daecheong Lake after receiving a request for additional dispatch while extinguishing a forest fire in Hyeondo-myeon, Seowon-gu, Cheongju-si, and returning to the apron of Okcheon-gun at around 1:20 pm.

Meanwhile, the helicopter that caused the accident this time was leased in Chungcheongbuk-do, and is known to be the same type of helicopter that crashed during a mountain rescue operation in Jungsan-ri, Sancheong-gun, Gyeongsangnam-do in May of last year.
