The Mokpo Coast Guard provided the ships used to rescue the victims of the Sewol ferry disaster at the time of the accident, but the bereaved families protested and the shipboard memorial service was canceled.

The 4·16 Sewol ferry disaster family council, the 4·16 foundation, and the Sewol ferry family bereaved council canceled the onboard memorial service planned for the 7th anniversary of the disaster in the disaster sea area near Byeongpungdo, Jodo-myeon, Jindo-gun, Jeollanam-do on the morning of the 11th.

The bereaved families who arrived in Mokpo from Ansan this morning said that when the Mokpo Coast Guard provided the 3,000-ton ship '3009' as a means of transportation, they said, "You can't get on a ship that neglected rescue by carrying the head of the Coast Guard instead of the victim on a ship helicopter." I protested.

The survivors held an internal meeting and eventually decided not to board.

Because it was a commander at the time of the disaster, a memorial service cannot be held aboard the ship that carried the sea police command without carrying an emergency patient on a ship.

At last year's memorial service, 3015 ships built after the disaster were provided.

An official of the 4·16 Foundation said, "We held a memorial service on board every year, and as soon as we arrived at the pier, the family showed a lot of surprise."

The bereaved family canceled the memorial service on board and visited Mokpo New Port and made a silent condolence and a wreath in front of the hull of the Sewol ferry.

In response, the Coast Guard was unable to provide other traps due to the crackdown and training schedule.
