Mark Zuckerberg is one of the 533 million Facebook users worldwide whose phone numbers were disclosed after a data breach in 2019. The information made available by this vulnerability in the social network has recently been made available online.

Consulting them, cybersecurity expert Dave Walker discovered that the CEO of Facebook had an account on Signal.

The specialist explained on Twitter that he had entered the telephone number associated with the billionaire in the secure messaging system and disclosed during the breach.

"Mark Zuckerberg also attaches importance to respect for his own privacy by using a messaging app that offers end-to-end encryption and which does not belong to Facebook," Dave Walker joked on Sunday.

In another turn of events, Mark Zuckerberg also respects his own privacy, by using a chat app that has end-to-end encryption and isn't owned by @facebook

This is the number associated with his account from the recent facebook leak.

Signal is gaining popularity

Signal is a direct competitor of WhatsApp, owned by Facebook.

The company announced that the personal data of account holders on WhatsApp could be shared with other applications in the group from May 15,

.

The measure caused a migration of a large number of users to more secure apps like Telegram or Signal.

Signal executives were also sarcastic when they learned of the WhatsApp owner's presence among their customers.

On the messaging Twitter account, they welcomed this Tuesday to see "Mark Zuckerberg set a good example as May 15 approaches, deadline to accept the rules of use of WhatsApp".
