According to the Corona 19 Vaccination Response Promotion Team (Promotion Team) today (5th), the vaccination damage investigation team held a 5th meeting on the 2nd to review the relationship between reports of serious adverse reactions such as death and vaccines.
At the 5th meeting, the damage investigation team reviewed five cases reported to have died after vaccination on the 24th to 25th of last month.
The 5 deaths were hospitalized and admitted to nursing homes or nursing facilities, and all had underlying diseases such as stroke, high blood pressure, and diabetes.
Three out of five are female and two are male.
Looking at the age group, there are 4 people in their 80s and 1 in their 90s.
They died 1 to 4 days after vaccination.
Suh Eun-sook, a member of the Damage Investigation Group, Soonchunhyang University medical school professor said, "Based on the data collected and analyzed so far, the likelihood of death from other causes such as liver disease or heart failure is higher, and the association with the vaccine is low. "We deliberated that it was difficult to admit the relationship between adverse reactions and death after vaccination," he said.
Professor Seo added, however, "For the three cases currently undergoing autopsies, we decided to confirm the final autopsy results and discuss the results of the examination again."
As a result, deliberation on 21 out of 32 cases of death reports received after vaccination began on February 26 was first completed.
The remaining 11 cases are being investigated by local governments, and the damage investigation team has not yet been deliberated.
The damage investigation team concluded that the association between vaccination and death was difficult for 19 out of 21 cases, and the judgment was withheld for the remaining 2 cases.
The damage investigation team also deliberated on three suspected cases of anaphylaxis at the 5th meeting and officially decided one of them as anaphylaxis.
The inoculated person diagnosed with anaphylaxis is a woman in her 40s and is a worker in a medical institution.
