A Pokémon card sold for more than 250,000 euros -

Geeko

Twenty-five years after their launch, Pokémon cards are still very popular today, even though they are no longer traded in the playground.

These days, Pokémon cards are especially popular with collectors who don't hesitate to shell out crazy sums to get their hands on rare cards.

The recent sale of a Charizard holographic card is proof of this.

The latter was auctioned for the tidy sum of $ 311,800 on eBay, after 124 auctions.

A particularly large amount which is explained by the rarity of the object.

In perfect condition

This card was released in 1999 and was one of the happy ones in the base set of Pokémon cards at the time.

Moreover, due to the absence of shadow at the level of Charizard's frame, we know that it comes from a first edition print which makes it a particularly rare object.

And best of all, the menu is in immaculate condition despite its great age.

It received a rating of "practically perfect" from the Professional Sports Authenticator collectible card ranking service.

In short, it is both one of the rarest and most pristine Pokémon cards in the world.

And if the amount offered to acquire it is very large, it is not a record.

Two Pokémon cards of similar ranking have indeed sold for 350,100 and 369,000 dollars.

But the latter are exceptional cases.

Pokémon cards regularly auctioned are sold for smaller sums.
